Job Description - DSP (Direct Support Professional)

We’re looking for compassionate individuals to become Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in our Medicaid-Certified program.  This role is pivotal in supporting individuals with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) to achieve their fullest potential.

Your Role:
As a DSP, you will engage in meaningful activities tailored to our clients’ goals, such as understanding their ISP, One-Page Profile, Action Plan, & Risk Profile, create activities to help them meet their goals, meal planning, hygiene assistance, banking & budgeting, transportation, grocery shopping, social activities, Daily Notes, etc.  Our approach is personal and paced to each individual's needs.

Requirements & Responsibilities

• Be at least 21 years of age
• Be legally eligible to work in the United States
• Consent to and pass a State Background Check
• Be free of convictions or founded allegations of abuse
• Experience as a DSP, PSW, or caretaker (required)
• Valid Oregon driver's license (required)
• Minimum of high school diploma or demonstrated equivalent
• Lift &/or assist transfer physically-challenged individuals who require such assistance to remain active & mobile while engaged in household or community activities
• Active participation in developing & implementing plans to meet the needs of the individuals served
• Some confidence in helping with challenging transitions
• Clear & effective communication
• Document daily activities (Daily Notes)
• Experience as a DSP, PSW, or caretaker (typically required)

While traditional benefits packages are not offered for this position, we ensure competitive compensation above industry standards as a direct investment in our team members (instead of supporting Wall St).  Additionally, we support our staff with mileage reimbursement (in accordance with the client's ISP) and comprehensive paid training, reflecting our commitment to the well-being and development of our team.

We offer competitive wages starting at $24/hr with overtime at $36/hr, alongside benefits such as paid training, a flexible dress code, and the freedom to create a positive and engaging work environment.
